CONSOLE 1 OPERATOR SETUP CHECKLIST

  1. Turn on Main Power
  2. Set up microphones in Media Center and plug into audio snake
  3. Turn on SVHS Decks and insert and rewind backup tape(s)

a. Record Deck

·        Set input to AV1 (using channel up/down buttons)

·        Set Line/S-Video switch to S-Video

·        Set speed to SLP

b. Play Deck (if used for 2nd backup)

·        Set input to AV2 (using channel up/down buttons)

·        Set Line/S-Video switch to S-Video

·        Set speed to SLP

  1. Adjust audio levels on mixer

·        Set MAIN MIX levels to unity (“U”)

·         Adjust individual channel levels as needed
Audio meters should average around “0” and be no higher than “7”

·        Adjust room volume using level on speakers

·        Adjust headphone volume using the CTRL RM/SUBMIX control

  1. Turn on PC and Log into the WinTCD Software

·        Double click on Leightronix WINTCD icon

·        Highlight LGX TCDIP and click Connect

   

·        Click on the Control

·        Highlight TCD-RP_01

  • In the Recorder Section, enter the following values:

            Vid Mbps: 6.0

                Resolution: Full D1

                Audio: 384kb
            and click “Set”

·        Enter the File Name for the Meeting
Names are limited to 8 characters.
For meetings please use a 4 letter abbreviation followed by a 4-digit month/day (i.e. January 1 would be 0101)

·        Preset the record destination by selecting the Switcher tab and setting the RP-1 input to VHS4-CS1

·        When meeting begins, press the Record button.  Also press record on one or both SVHS decks

  • If going live,set the ON-AIR input to VHS4-CS1

 

OPERATING REMOTE CAMERAS

  1. On the Panasonic camera remote control unit, select the camera you want to control by entering its number followed by the CAM/SET button
  2. Adjust camera zoom and focus using the appropriate controls
  3. Switch to the desired camera by selecting it’s input number on the Panasonic MX-20 switcher.  The bus (row) which shows a blinking input light is the program output.  The non-blinking input bus can be used for previewing shots in the Preview Monitor.

 

USING SCALA FOR GRAPHIC OVERLAYS

  1. Open the Scala IC200 Program
  2. Load preset script or create a new page
  3. In the browser mode, select the page with the graphic overlay you want to use and click Preview
  4. Fade the graphic in or out using the Fade button on the remote control (black) for the DeltaScan GL scan converter.
  5. If needed, adjust the keying level using the Key Level +/- buttons

 

SHUTDOWN CHECKLIST

  1. Go off air and stop recording

·        Switch the ON-AIR input to BULBRD

·        In the Recorder section, click Stop

   

·        Close the Control Panel and exit the WINTCD Software

  1. Shut down PC
  2. Stop, rewind, and eject backup tape(s) and label with meeting title and date
  3. Bring all audio faders down on the audio mixer
  4. Shut off Main Power
  5. Put away microphones and neatly coil audio snake and leave in the corner

 

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

NO VIDEO ON PROGRAM MONITOR

  • Check that input on SVHS Record Deck is set to AV1 and the S-Video/Line switch is set to S-Video
  • Cycle through the keying modes on the DeltaScan GL by selecting the Overlay button several times

 

THERE IS NO SOUND COMING THROUGH THE SPEAKERS, HEADPHONES, OR REGISTERING ON THE SVHS RECORD DECKS

  • Make sure the MAIN MIX levels are set to “U” on the audio mixer.
  • Check level on the CTRL RM/SUBMIX control
  • Check levels on the record decks (they should be set to 3 notches to the left of the center detent position).
